The first of the season's concerts sees the return of Mark Laycock to the CIS podium. As music director of the orchestra, Maestro Laycock brought inspiration and delight to audiences and players alike. Now residing in Wichita, KS, Laycock has appeared with orchestras in the U.S., Canada, throughout Europe, and Mexico. Don't miss this reunion of CIS with an old and dear friend.

Featuring: Philip Peters, Guest Conductor
For its traditional concert of seasonal melodies, CIS welcomes a new friend as its guest conductor. Since 1995, Mr. Peters has been director of the Valley High School Orchestra program and also plays as double bassist in the Des Moines Symphony. His concert of festive airs will surely supply a warm glow to the winter holidays. Do not be surprised if the concert includes a visit by an old, old friend from the the North Pole.

Young Artist Family Concert

Featuring: Eric McIntyre, Guest Conductor & the Winners of the YA Auditions
Eric McIntyre will lead the orchestra for the annual concert featuring the winners of the Young Artist Auditions. Residing with his famly on a farm near Grinnell, where he teaches at Grinnell College, Dr. McIntyre has been delighting audiences with his exciting concerts as conductor of the Fort Dodge Area Symphony.
 

Season Finale

Featuring: Mitchell Lutch, Guest Conductor
A member of the music faculty at Central College in Pella, Mr. Lutch has appeared with orchestras throughout North America, in the former Soviet Union, China, and Japan. Always a celebratory occasion, the final CIS season concert is sure to be special with Mitchell Lutch at the podium.
